Operational Information Management System (OIMS)

This system collects information like hourly generation data, daily load consumption, dispatch & plant related information, Chemical stock & consumption from all power generating units’ control rooms and other related control rooms& departments. These information than stored, processed and provide necessary reports for management and otherstack holders.

KPI Monitoring System

This system is for monitoring Key Performance Index (KPI). These KPIs are set by Power Division, Ministry of Power, Energy& Mineral Resources in Bangladesh. These includes parameters like Efficiency & Reliability of Power Station, Financial Issues, Procurement, Human Resources Development, Project works etc. Each financial year these KPIs are reviewed and reset the target for next year. This system collects data from OIMS and other systems and keeps track of KPI status and provide information to management whether the company is going towards the targets through graphical representation and reportand help management totake decisions for necessary tuning measures.

Human Resources Information System (HRIS)

This system is part of ERP system. This system stores details informationof all types of employees (Human Resources) of APSCL. This system provide easy and time saving process of HRM related activities (from recruitment to retirement) by HRM Dept. Recruitment Module, Placement Module, Leave Management, Shift Management, Payroll, HRM Module(Increment, Transfer, Promotion, Contract Renewal, Addl. Charges, Retirement etc.), Performance Evaluation, Employees Self-Service module etc. are included in this system. Some modules are already implemented and utilizing by HRM Dept. Development & Implementation of other modules are going on.

Training Management System

The HRD Department of APSCL conducts lots of training programs for development of employees of APSCL. These training program includes on-job, off-job, internal, external, local and foreign trainings. At the beginning of the year, HRD designs annual training schedule for its Engineers, Technicians and other employee. Most of the resource persons are internal. Sometimes external resource persons are hired. There is a full equipped Training Center in APSCL run by HRD. Sometimes employees are sent to renowned institutes in local and abroad. Sometimes employees are nominated as per invitations of external sources. All these information are stored in Training Management System. This system is integrated with HRIS and KPI Monitoring System.

Digital Dashboard

This system collects information from various live systems like OIMS, KPI Monitoring System. HRIS and provide a graphical view of instant status of plants, KPI and other crucial matters. This system helps management and other senior officials to monitor and take decision accordingly.

Stores Management System

APSCL has 9 power generating units. Two of them are recently retired. Now the station capacity is 671 MW. In addition construction of one 225MW CCPP, two 450MW CCPP and one 200MW Modular power plant projects are going on. Presently there are 35000 kinds of spares and general items in APSCL warehouse. The consumer of these items are mainly electrical and mechanical maintenance departments. The electrical & mechanical dept check the stock. If the items are in warehouse, they put requisition otherwise they request for purchase. The procurement dept process the purchase procedures as per government procurement rules. After delivery, concern dept certify the quality and Stores Dept receives the items. All these operations are done through Stores Management System by maintaining all integrity and security. This system also provide day to day inventory reports and necessary MIS reports.

This site contains information like history, company information, mission, vision & objectives, Plants introductory, running projects updates & future plans, management, board of directors, CSR etc. This site also provide procurement and recruitment related information for citizen of Bangladesh and other concerned. Updated production and financial related information are regularly published here. Important documents & forms are uploaded so that concern body (local or foreign) can download the required document easily.

Attendance & Access Control

APSCL maintains Employees attendance through Finger Print Attendance System. Employees are working in geographically different positions like main power station, new project site, training center, medical center and school run by APSCL. This system collects employees’ Entry/Exit data from all finger Print machines in a regular intervals and stores in a central server. All supervisors can monitor their subordinates’ins/outs from their workstationsthrough an interface developed by MIS & ICT Dept. The HR Dept and Accounts Dept extracts attendance and late reports from this systemthrough the interface. This system also ensure authorize access though magnetic lock attached with doors and controlled by the Finger Print machines. This system is integrated with HRIS.

Patrol Guard Monitoring System

APSCL is a class 1 KPI (Key Point Installation). So ensuring security is one of the main concern for the company. This system ensures patrolling of Security Supervisors to the defined routes. This system uses RFID tags installed to some important points. Security Supervisors patrol through the routes with Guard Patrol Machine. Each Supervisor starts their tour by initialize the machine with his identity and when reaches the RFID tag, time and other information are then updated. Security In charge downloads the data from Guard Patrol Machine and generate reports.

Dedicated Video Conferencing System

Power Division, Ministry of Power, Energy & Mineral Resources in Bangladesh and it’s other agencies like Power Development Board, Generating companies, Transmission companies and distribution companies situated geographically in different locations throughout the country are connected to dedicated video conferencing system. This system is for quick communication and decision making among power sector entities. This system is part of WAN communication.

Mailing System

This is an effort to make less paper office. Lots of inter departmental communications are done in APSCL. In addition to this copies of orders/circulars are distributed regularly. Especially HR, procurement and Operation Depts are generating huge documents. Before implementing this system huge number of papers were printed or copied and distributed which involved lots of costs and time. Now this communication are done digitally through internal mail which saves paper, ink andvaluable time.

LAN, WAN, Internet, Intranet, Wi-Fi Zones

Total area of APSCL is about 270 acres. Corporate Office Building, Plants, Control Rooms, Chemical Plants, Warehouses, Procurement Building, Accounts Building, Civil Building, Security Gates, New Power Plant Project Sites, Training Center, Medical Center and School within this huge area are connected through fiber optic backbone. More than 150 workstation are now under wired connection. Beside these, at present there are 4 large Wi-Fi zones. There is also WAN communication between ministry and APSCL. Construction of WAN communication between liaison office in Dhaka and corporate office in Ashuganj is going on. Broadband Internet connectivity is also available. Most of the application systems are running under intranet based infrastructure. All IP enabled devices like attendance system, IP Cameras, NVR, DVR etc. are also connected through LAN.
